What is CARDS?

CARDS is the in-game currency for Wars of Cards. It is used to place bets in Blackjack (and soon Texas Hold'em Poker).

Token Contract Address: ft.warsofcards.near

How to Get CARDS

Free Daily Claims

Every player can claim 50 CARDS every 24 hours for free. This is your base supply to start playing without any investment.

Purchase with NEAR

You can buy CARDS token packs directly in the Blackjack lobby:

  • First Pack: 100 CARDS for 1 NEAR
  • Second Pack: 320 CARDS for 3 NEAR
  • Third Pack: 600 CARDS for 5 NEAR

Note: Pack sizes and pricing can be adjusted by the contract owner.

Game Winnings

CARDS tokens are minted by authorized game contracts when you win games.

Token Mechanics: Burning & Supply

CARDS tokens are permanently destroyed when you place bets.
Users cannot burn tokens directly, only the authorized game contracts can burn tokens.

  • Supply increases when players claim or purchase tokens, or win games
  • Supply decreases when tokens are burned during gameplay

Treasury & Revenue

The Treasury operates as the central revenue collection mechanism and increases with player activity. The Wars of Cards protocol generates revenue through:

  1. Transfer Fees — 7% fee on non-whitelisted CARDS token transfers between wallets (tracked via total_fees_collected). Note: Deposits to game contracts (e.g., Blackjack) are fee-free and whitelisted.
  2. Pack Purchases — 100% of NEAR spent on token packs goes to the treasury

Storage Deposit Requirement

To play Blackjack and use CARDS tokens, you need to deposit storage fees (one-time):

  • 0.0123 NEAR — Blackjack contract storage registration
  • 0.0013 NEAR — Token contract storage registration

This is a requirement on the NEAR Protocol to allocate storage space for your account data.

Deposit & Withdraw

Players can:

  • Deposit CARDS from their wallet into the Blackjack game contract (to play) — fee-free as game contracts are whitelisted
  • Withdraw CARDS from the game contract back to their wallet (to hold/transfer)

Deposits to game contracts are exempt from transfer fees (whitelisted), while transfers between regular wallets incur the 7% transfer fee.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get CARDS?

Daily free claims — claim 50 CARDS every 24 hours for free

Pack purchases — buy token packs with NEAR

Game winnings — tokens are minted by the authorized game contract when you win games

When are tokens burned?

CARDS tokens are permanently burned (destroyed) when you place bets, double down, or split hands during gameplay — regardless of whether you win or lose. This happens because these actions commit tokens to the game contract. Users cannot burn tokens directly; only authorized game contracts can burn tokens during gameplay. This burning mechanism reduces the total circulating supply of CARDS, creating natural scarcity as player activity increases. The more active the game, the more tokens are burned, which naturally regulates supply through game mechanics rather than fixed caps.

Is there a maximum supply?

No, CARDS token features an unlimited supply model with dynamic circulation. The circulating supply is calculated as: total_minted − total_burned. Supply increases when players claim free tokens, purchase packs, or win games (minted by game contracts), and decreases when tokens are burned during gameplay. This supply-agnostic design allows the ecosystem to scale across multiple games without artificial constraints.

What is the storage deposit for?

The NEAR blockchain requires a one-time storage fee to allocate storage space for your account data with smart contracts. You need to deposit 0.0123 NEAR for the Blackjack contract storage registration and 0.0013 NEAR for the token contract storage registration (total ~0.014 NEAR).
